Riley is a small but sound male that moves efficiently in the field, running effortlessly with eye-catching groundspeed and style. Campaigned in field trials by breeder and pro, Gorden Hansen of Outdoors Kennels.  Owner handled in amateur stakes, hunt and NAVHDA tests, and to all show points.

Riley is our first Weimaraner. After researching the breed, we were referred to Outdoors Kennels and asked Gorden and Shirley Hansen for a hunting dog. We never planned on competing with him, but like his father Mel (CH Greymist's Xactly Right, JH, NRD, V), he won a large Puppy stake with an entry of 23 at the 2001 Western Classic - and we were hooked!

Riley finished his field championship easily and has points towards his amateur title. He earned his SDX and RDX titles at the WCA National Ratings test in 2004, and has also prized in NAVHDA Utility, He is Southland Weimaraner Club's Top Winning Puppy and Top Winning Derby dog for 2000 and 2001; Top Winning Amateur Handled Field Dog for 2003, 2004 and 2005; and Top Winning Field Dog for 2004 and 2005. He finished his CD title with ease and has also served as a Therapy Dogs International certified therapy dog.

At age 2, we started training for show, "just for fun." Riley's show career started with 3 reserve wins, all to majors, and a BOW for a 5 point major. Shown sparingly during the off season for field, he finished his show championship after his field championship, owner handled to all his show points.

Riley is a happy, enthusiastic and driven dog, characteristics that have served him well in both the show ring as well as in the field. His joie de vie makes us smile every day. He also has the misfortune of being our "learner dog," forgiving us our mistakes and patiently training as his owners learn along side of him. He is OFA Excellent (WE-8296E25M-PI) and Thyroid Normal (MSU).
